The year 2005 was another exciting year for Downtown Spokane fueling the $1.5 billion renaissance.

As the renaissance continues to evolve, Downtown is coming alive with more opportunities to feed our appetite for success and achievements. We are witnessing an accumulation of retail, dining, cultural entertainment, housing, and business growth flourishing in Downtown. With each new project comes a growing enthusiasm.

The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) remains focused on its core roles which are to advocate and provide services dedicated to the creation of a dynamic, vital and sustainable Downtown as the basis of an economically healthy region. In order to ensure Downtown's continued success, the DSP actively pursues three strategic initiatives in collaboration with its partners, subsidiary corporation Ventures, and the community:

The DSP and its members are dedicated to creating an exciting, attractive, and productive Downtown providing employment and living opportunities, unique shopping, entertainment, cultural events, and recreational activities integrated with surrounding neighborhoods.

Ultimately, Downtown is a destination for people, drawing visitors from within the greater Spokane region and beyond.

In 2006 the DSP will continue to follow its Downtown Plan and use it as guiding principle for all activity in our urban core. We will roll out a strategic business retention and expansion plan along with supporting the Downtown housing boom.

We look forward to the future year as we reflect on 2005. With every year we gain confidence and knowledge in our faith and enthusiasm for Downtown Spokane.

It’s not everyday that you truly have one common vision that has unfolded into such an amazing success.

Downtown Spokane is rich with individuals who have helped renew the focus of keeping our experience and environment positive and rewarding for all those who work, play and live here.

There has been heavy lifting done by countless individuals and we are so grateful for everyone's time and efforts! We interact with many key partners every day to ensure we can keep this place humming.

The future is bright! Downtown is rich with projects, people, ideas and environment ripe for yet another surge of development.  We are not only at the tipping point, but we have tipped—we are there! We are now looking over yet another New Downtown rising before us demonstrates the real bricks and mortar being put in to action

There is an old saying, “It usually takes a very long time to become an overnight success.”  That surely has been Downtown Spokane over the past 10 years.

Our work is not done, but there is so much to build from thanks to all of our.  We must take pride in our successes and look forward with confidence.
